Walgreens Needs Your Support

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

For the past year, Walgreens and Express Scripts were in some negotiations to continue as part of Express Scripts’ pharmacy provider network. Now that Walgreens has been totally cut off from the network, they need your support more than ever.

This has a dire effect on the thousands of patients who are already attached to their Walgreens pharmacist establishing that trust that they have whenever they buy medicines through the Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens.

Also, patients covered by an Express Scripts plan now find themselves not only having to change their pharmacists, but many are having to drive farther to get prescriptions filled at pharmacies with less convenient hours for their hectic schedules.

What can you do to help? For one thing, take advantage of the power of social media, spread the word and voice your displeasure regarding this or contact your local radio station and let them know what you think about Walgreens’ predicament.

One of Express Scripts’ clients is Tricare, which is the health and prescription drug program for America’s military service men and women. During negotiations, Walgreens took the unprecedented step of offering Express Scripts an ironclad guarantee that Walgreens prices would match or beat the average costs per adjusted prescription of all other pharmacies in the Tricare network.

Walgreens did this in an effort to prevent our country’s military personnel from being caught in the middle. But it seems Express Scripts has other plans. I smell politics here.

Please also show your support for Walgreens by staying updated by liking Walgreens on Facebook and following Walgreens on Twitter.
