The Blue Planet is a BBC nature documentary series narrated by David Attenborough. Described as “the first ever comprehensive series on the natural history of the world’s oceans”, each of the eight 50-minute episodes examines a different aspect of marine life.

The underwater photography included creatures and behaviour that had previously never been filmed.

I am always fascinated when it comes to marine life especially sharks. Dangerous as they may be, I love watching them as much as I love watching dolphins play on each other.

The Blue Planet features a whole lot of them in various situations like the annual sardine run, a huge congregation of predators such as sharks and dolphins that assembles to feast on the migrating fish by corralling them into ‘bait balls’.

Filming underwater documentaries is never an easy task and if it were not for these diligent and patient crewmen, we would never know what events marine life holds in our planet’s vast oceans.
