Worst Flood In Cagayan de Oro History

When my mom texted me about the flash floods in my hometown Cagayan de Oro, Philippines, I was a bit worried. Considering that I have read text messages from my friends that in some parts there, the flood was like neck-level. That is pretty dangerous. I remember the last time we had a bit of a flood, it was only almost knee-deep. And it did not even last that long. Only a few hours. And I could never forget that experience because I was still a kid that time and when I was nervous about the water slowly increasing, the first thing that I took care were my toys, hurriedly scurrying up to the second floor. After that time, when our house was restructured and remodeled, my mom made sure our house stood a few feet high. That way, no water would get in.

I am thankful though that the floor in our area never got inside our house. I know a lot of friends who had big problems because water got in their homes. I could just imagine how worse those people who live in the neck-level affected areas are coping up. This was the worst flood in CDO history. I hope the sun will come out soon. Last I heard it was raining a bit but not as bad as yesterday. I pray that things will go fine now and that the storm will pass.
