Myanmar’s Cyclone Disaster

This had been on the headlines in the CNN website for quite some time now. This raging cyclone pummelled Myanmar badly, lots of people had died. Could this be a global warming cause? I just knew today that Myanmar was previously called Burma when I checked out the CNN website. I thought this is somewhere in Cambodia. Apparently, their state news did warn them about the incoming cyclone but it was too late. People did not have time to prepare for what came to them. This was by far the worst cyclone disaster that I’ve come upon in the news. Other natural disaster that I get to read often are mostly storms and tornadoes. Oh yeah, there was also that huge tsunami that swept Thailand’s shore. Global warming … I believe that that had a hand in the cyclone that swept Myanmar. Until now, countries still are doing little to slow the pace of global warming. Heck, even our ozone’s already depleted there’s one place in Greenland (I think, if not then I forgot where that place is) where the ozone’s hole is directly on its area. Sunscreen is very in demand there and sometimes they run out of stock quickly because everybody’s buying them for protection. Countries that emit the most greenhouse gases should do more to lessen the problem. Ever watched the movie “the day after tomorrow”? Who knows, that could happen to us. We just won’t know when mother nature will suddenly strike us, and before we’ll know it, the damage had already been done. At this time when there is already a world wide crisis on food shortage, pretty sure Myanmar is experiencing that, they had to have this new problem. And it’s worse. Even though lots of countries have chipped in for humanitarian aid, the damage is so severe. Lots of people had died, the shortage of food and water has gotten worse and people could barely have shelter. I feel sorry for them. I do not like calamities like cyclones, let alone others that can inflict severe damage to everything they pass through. I can only hope events such as this, happen rarely.
