Games Load Slow In PSP

It had been quite a long time since I last (and first) configured my PSP. It is running under the M33 firmware and for unknown reasons, my memory card lost all my ISO and CSO games including the saved game files. I did manage to backup before but my Indiana Jones Adventures saved game was lost forever. Anyway, when I copied my games to my memory stick, I found out that the games loaded slow. Seemed my configurations got changed too. To go to the recovery configuration menu, turn off your PSP then turn it back one while you are pressing R.

Once in the recovery menu, make sure you set the following.

- Configuration > UMD Mode > choose sony np9660 -NO-UMD-

- Configuration > set use vshmenu to enabled

- Go back to the menu and then choose cpu speed. change the umd/iso speed by pressing the button X. Keep on pressing X until you see it set to 300-

- Go back to the main menu and choose exit.

Your game should be running smoothly then.

Mazetrix For iTouch

Mazetrix by Webfoot Technologies, Inc. is a fast paced puzzle challenge. Yes fast. Because you have a timer to be aware of to try and finish the level’s puzzle or else it is game over. Yes, you heard me right. Game over. It would have been better if you can restart the level once time runs out. It was pretty frustrating for me to have to restart all over again. Although the puzzles vary even when you start from the beginning, I do not know. I guess it wore off on me that I had to restart again. People who love fast paced games will love this. The challenge of beating the clock and clearing the level. The objective if the game is to match the sequence of gems by moving them across the maze, horizontally and/or vertically.

You will start out with 3 gems and as you go deeper with each level, more and more gems need to be lined up in the same order. Good luck! Haha. I enjoyed it at first but later on got frustrated when I was beaten by the clock timer and I had to restart all over again. The graphics are good, the music too. Languages are available in English, French, Spanish which you will be asked which to use before you start playing the game. Check out some screen shots below.

Convert UIF to ISO In Mac OS

If you have come across a file that you thought was the program you were looking for only to find out that is ends with an extension UIF, do not fret. UIF, which means Universal Image Format is a powerful compression image file format for backuping CD/DVD. Most people are used to the file extension ISO which, in a way acts like how DMG file works in Mac OS. To convert a UIF file to ISO, I use UIF2ISO4MAC, a program byy Torsten Curdt which is based on the command line tool from Luigi Auriemma.

To use the program is pretty simple. Just open the UIF file and it will convert it automatically to ISO format with the same filename. It’s that easy! Then, when you have the ISO file you can burn it to CD or DVD.
